My brand new spin bike is being delivered today. Can anyone recommend a cd spin bike class for beginners just to get me started? I've got a collection of virtual bike trips all over the world, but, I'd like to have a basic how-to cd. Knowing how to adjust the bike for my height, etc, how to build up my workouts, would be good to know. Help! nana

To Deb on surgery:

My podiatrist says surgery has an 80% success rate. When you read about it online, it's an 5-40% success rate & can actually make them WORSE ! I think your doctor & mine are just trying to make a buck !!

I would like to know what this NASA technology is that David is talking about !! I have tried:

Good Feet orthotics: They made my inflammation spread into my shins.

Langer orthotics: Pain in shins went away, still have same amount of foot pain, though.

Night splints: They sort of squeeze my calf, which makes my legs fall asleep, which is very uncomfortable.

Saw a podiatrist: He said my Langer orthotic is best. Gave me a cortisone shot (that he said would cure me). It helped for 4 weeks & pain came back full bore.

Changed jobs: Went from cleaning houses to office job.

Stretch: Daily.

Nothing works. Would love to hear this NASA thing or any more advice!!

The first ever solo run to cross the Sahara.

Hi I'm Kevin Carr. In November 2009 I'm running a pretty similair run to this.

Although by crossing the Sahara North-South technically means i'm taking 'the easy' route, the route is completely piste/road free and the attempt is both Solo and unsupported, I can't wait, 6 weeks running into, across and then out of the desert - all under the stars, it's going to be incredible, if your'e interested in following the run;

look up runningthesaharasolo: www.runningthesaharasolo.com

The run takes the format of 26 miles (1 marathon) a day for 40 days straight, so details of the run can be found at 26x40:
www.26x40.com

The run Engle, Zahab and Lin achieved really does push the boundaries of what we imagine to be possible, an incredible feat of endurance and showcase of the power of focus and determination.

Raising awareness of the need for clean drinking water across Africa/the world is very important.
