Tempted To Cheat! February 28, 2007

Posted by Lisa Sabin in boston marathon, Fat Tuesday, nutrition, Weight Loss.

I woke up this morning and found 6 boxes of girlscout cookies on the dining room table. They weren’t there when I went to bed! A friend of ours has two daughters who are girlscouts. Apparently, Phil didn’t know about my pact with my sister to give up sweets for lent! Either that or he just couldn’t resist a couple of cute kids.

They are in our freezer right now, out of sight, out of mind right? I feel like the guy in the movie “What It Takes.” He doesn’t keep any food in the house, so he won’t cheat.

The cookies are calling me! Should I keep my word? or support the scouts?

I also gave up the cookies! What a challenge, it’s tougher than marathon training!!!

Tell me about it. I am eating special K without milk as a snack, while my daughter munches on thin mints!

They keep well in the freezer…keep your word and indulge later!

This kinda reminds me of the episode of ‘Friends’ where David Schwimmer’s character accidentally breaks a little girl’s leg, and has to go selling her cookies for her. Have you checked the facts with Phil yet!?

In our house, I’m never allowed cookies. Apparantly, you’re not supposed to eat them all. Makes no sense to me either.

I gave up caffeine, chocolate and alcohol for lent a few years back, and that was tough. I ended up developing quite a flapjack habit, and gained over 7lb! 40 days with no biscuits though . . . not sure I could ever do that.

Good luck!

So far I have avoided the cookies. But, I haven’t given up wine or coffee!

Phil is a softie when it comes to kids selling stuff. He has a hard time saying no.

If it’s any help, the kids will have eaten all those cookies long before your 40 days are up. I might have eaten a few myself.

You are right! The cookies are almost gone. Oh, to have the metabolism of a 13 year old!
